Designed to help create more inclusive spaces for beauty clients and staff, this masterclass draws on personal experiences, imagination, data and industry insights to challenge the status quo in salon culture and drive meaningful change from an intersectional lens.

As we explore diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) concepts, reckon with some of the beauty industry’s history, bear witness to ourselves and others, and engage in both reflective and creative exercises, this session will encourage shifting from working towards belonging as an end goal and strategic need, to co-creating a culture of belonging as a transformational practice rooted in care.

In this class, Alex Bélisle-Springer will:

As a trans, queer, bi-racial and neurodivergent person, Alex has spent most of his life reflecting on how fine the line between alienation and belonging can be. On who and what helped him affirm, love and celebrate the parts of himself that he struggled to accept, understand or see for years, in contrast to what would cause him significant discomfort instead. Consider this session a call to action—embrace the opportunity to learn from Alex, whose journey, experiences, and knowledge will inspire you to make meaningful, lasting changes in both your salon and your life.

In this class, Brandi will walk you through the different business entities (LLCS vs. corporations). Brandi will go through a real tax return to breakdown all the numbers to increase your understanding of how your financial profit and loss statement is reflected on a tax return. Brandi will explore tax deadlines, tax tips, and tax myths and will also discuss taxes at the federal, state, and local levels. While Brandi can’t get rid of taxes all together, she will make sure you leave this class feeling more comfortable for tax season with the information and resources needed to be able to file taxes as a business owner!

In this interactive session, you’ll uncover the foundational strategies that every beauty professional needs to grow their business through social media. Led by social media expert, Season Bennett, this class will provide you with the essential tools to enhance your online presence and attract more clients to your salon. Learn how to create engaging content, optimize your profiles, and how to pinpoint the ideal customer in your area. Whether you’re new to social media or need a refresh, this class will give you the confidence to market your services effectively and start seeing real results.

In this course, attendees will be provided with vital tools on how to take care of themselves, so that they can continue to take care of others.  We will discuss topics such as the importance of nutrition and wellness, the different ways we can self care, how to schedule out time on the books for yourself, how to budget for self-care, and the overall importance of becoming your best self.
